10 Things a Lender will Probably Need From You

If you’re planning to purchase a home using a lender, it is likely that the lender will require certain documents from you. Here is a quick overview of the documents that a Lender might need from you:

  • Social Security Number/Card

  • Proof of Employment (e.g. W2s for the last two years)

  • Proof of Income (e.g. Tax Records which verify your earnings)

  • Tax Documents

  • Place of Residence

  • Bank Account Information (e.g. bank statements, 401K statements, etc.)

  • Credit Information

  • Purchase Agreement (e.g. your real estate contract)

  • Gift Letters: some mortgage companies will allow you to get funds from immediate family members to help you cover your down payment expenses.
